Hydra Island
Hydra was the last island stop on our 2022 Greece trip.
Quaint, car-free and peaceful, I will always remember the island for its beautiful scenery, especially the sea and the sky during sunset from the balcony of our villa, and also, for the fact that we came down with COVID-19.
Despite getting sick at the end of our trip, the days prior was spend reading, cooking meals in the villa and looking out at the town, water and sky.
With no cars on the island, there were donkeys here and there used mostly for transporting things. They helped us with bringing our luggage up to the villa we stayed at, I was very impressed by how lithe and agile they were climbing the steep cobblestones.
It would’ve been nice to explore more of the island but seeing as we got sick we spent the remaining days of our trip indoors.
